Expert Witness Opinion Search

Has this expert been through a Daubert fight before? Read the opinions.

Enter the name of the State's forensic analyst, medical examiner, or expert witness. This free tool searches the published CourtListener opinion corpus for that name appearing alongside a Daubert, Frye, or Kumho admissibility reference, and returns each matching opinion with the verbatim passage and a link to the source. Florida and federal-in-Florida opinions are surfaced first.

Search an expert or forensic-witness name

This preview reads the published CourtListener opinion corpus directly. It surfaces opinions where the name you enter appears alongside a Daubert, Frye, or Kumho admissibility reference — with the verbatim passage and a link to the source opinion. It does not say whether the witness was excluded or admitted, and it does not confirm identity: read each opinion and verify the person is the same expert in your case.

What this is — and what it is not

A lead to read, not a verdict on the witness.

This tool tells you where to look: published opinions in which an expert's name co-occurs with an admissibility standard. It does not tell you what the court decided. An opinion may have admitted the expert over objection, denied the motion to exclude, or been ruling on the other side's witness entirely. Open each linked opinion and read the ruling yourself.

It also does not confirm identity. A name in an opinion can belong to a party, an attorney, or a judge — not the expert in your case. Treat every result as a possible match to run down, the way you would any lead in discovery.

Once you have read the prior opinions and you are building the actual motion, the Forensic Foundation Pack gives you the discipline-level Rule 702 reliability attack (firearm/toolmark, bite-mark, hair, fingerprint, field-test, breathalyzer, BAC, eyewitness, polygraph, voice), and the Cooperator Cross-Exam Pack handles the witness-credibility angle. This search is the person-record lead; those are the depth.

Published opinions are not a complete record of any expert's testimony history — trial-court minute orders and unpublished rulings are not included, and the corpus skews toward appellate and published district opinions. Each result is verbatim-sourced to a CourtListener opinion; a result with no verifiable source passage does not appear. This is an aggregate lead tool, not legal advice, and not a finding about any individual. Verify identity and read each source independently.
