Refund Policy
BenchRecon produces research briefs from U.S. Sentencing Commission public data. Our policy is designed to be practical for attorneys with pending case deadlines.
Correction Guarantee
If a brief you received contains a data error — incorrect offense level, criminal history category, district, or JSIN exclusion count — reply to your order confirmation email within 7 calendar days of delivery and describe the discrepancy. We will either correct and redeliver the brief or issue a full refund at your election.
"Correct" means the brief accurately reflects USSC public datafile output for the specified offense level and criminal history category cell. It does not mean the data produces a favorable sentencing range for your client.
Refund Eligibility
Refunds are available in two circumstances:
- Data error: The brief contains a verifiable error in the USSC data output and you request correction or refund within 7 days of delivery.
- Non-delivery: You completed checkout and were charged but did not receive the brief within 24 hours.
No Refunds For
We do not issue refunds based on the content of the data — for example, because the distribution is unfavorable, the cell has a small N, or the JSIN exclusion count is lower than expected. The brief reports what the Commission published. If the data does not help your case, that is an outcome of the underlying sentencing record, not an error in our output.
We also do not issue refunds for change-of-mind after delivery of an accurate brief.
How to Request
Reply directly to your order confirmation email. Include your order number, the specific error or delivery problem, and what you need — correction or refund. We respond within one business day and resolve within three.
If you cannot locate your order confirmation email, write to support@benchrecon.com with your name and the email address used at checkout.
Stripe Disputes
If you initiate a chargeback before contacting us, we will provide Stripe with delivery confirmation and the brief itself. We prefer to resolve disputes directly — disputes that could be resolved by email cost both parties time. Contact us first.
